Spotify! "The Next Generation"

Me and my partner; Johannes choose the program "Spotify" because we both have an interest in music and love listening to tracks for free. Johannes first showed me all the cool tools Spotify has such as: finding and streaming albums, sharing music with friends and fans and cutting down memory space since Spotify uses an internet cloud to stream its songs.

Johannes had the idea of using the website he uses to stream music. Instead of Itunes or any downloading site, Johannes uses a site called "Spotify".  interested in the site we decided to use Spotify as our remediate.

what is "Spotify"? Spotify is a search engine that helps the user stream and save wanted tracks and albums without ever having to dowload or save tracks on ones hardrive. Unlike other downloading sites, Spotify streams all its music from the source (labels and producers). This allows the user to feel safe, because being able to know where your music is coming from allows the user to have trust.

Spotify is a skeymorph program. Putting that into context, Spotify uses the main frame of Itunes and aloborats on it creating  a better and more accecable program. Spotify incorperates old methods of downloading music by opening up new ways of saving and sharing music over the internet.


Being operated by the labels and producers, Spotify is an attempt to give back the power to the distributors. Cd stores are of the past and illegal downloading of music takes place in almost ever home across the world. By streaming clean music on a secure website, Spotify allows the producers to make money on their product through advertisments a sponsors.


I incourage anyone who injoys their music to check out the site. Sadly Spotify is only avaliable in Europe right now, so once it finds it way over seas I incourage all to download it!
